To get an idea of where I am coming from with this review I should tell you that I am a metal drummer, drumming around 170-260 bpm and my stick of choice would normally be Pro-Mark 5A nylon tip. These sticks are incredible, especially for the average price of a quarter of the Pro-Mark equivalent. They're light weight, create a strong hit and are very durable. If that's what you're looking for then I would highly recommend these sticks.

These sticks are a little lighter than the Vic Firth Hickory for the same gauge. I have some 2BN Hickory Vic Firth and they are really heavy , so these met the need for lighter faster and indeed more intricate playing. I also have some Vic Firth Nova 5A which are a lower grade Hickory than the "full fat" ones - It does say on their web site . But The Tiger maple are a nicer alternative to the NoVA hickory and a bit cheaper !!
