I don't intend to travel with this stand, so it looks fine for 'static' use at home - it feels quite sturdy. My one slight criticism is that the angle between the shelf (on which the music sits) and the back of the stand (on which the music lies) is less than 90 degrees. You might think this would ensure that the music doesn't fall off easily, which it probably does. However it also means that the bottom of the page catches on the shelf when you turn over. This not only makes it a bit more awkward to turn, but also might be a distrating scraping noise if you were using it for performance. I have bent mine to be more or less 90 degrees and it's now fine - but it took quite a bit of effort!

For years, we in the band had put up with folding music stands which became top heavy and fell (or were knocked) over at the most inopportune times. The orchestral music stand was a real find, so good that we bought 4 of them. Unfortunately one was damaged in transit. When I informed DJM about this, they sent another immediately without any problem. Excellent item, brilliant service; many thanks.

The stand is just perfect for holding the thick music folders which we have for our society (Dundee Strathspey and Reel Society). My old stand tended to collapse with the weight.
